Legal Defense Fund Scholarships
This
program has assisted over 8,000 students with more than $16
million in financial support. Thereby, we have helped to increase
the pool of highly trained civil rights lawyers and other professionals
who defend the rights of the African-American community.
The Herbert
Lehman Education Fund is a national scholarship program that
makes annual awards to outstanding students who meet rigorous
eligibility criteria. Students who are interested in applying
for college or law school scholarships are strongly encouraged
to review eligibility criteria and program descriptions before
requesting or submitting applications.
The Earl
Warren Civil Rights Training Scholarships are awarded each year
to 15-20 new students whose community involvement activities
and leadership qualities demonstrate outstanding potential for
training as civil rights and public interest attorneys.
