Joseph and Sylvia Slifka Foundation Scholarship
This private
family foundation supports the arts, higher education and Jewish
causes. Historically, the foundation has supported the United
Negro College Fund (UNCF) in the form of unrestricted support.
Recently,
the foundation's board of directors decided to increase their
support with a $1 million grant to establish the UNCF/Joseph and
Sylvia Slifka Foundation Scholarship Program.
This four-year
scholarship program offers Full tuition, room and board, fees
and books to entering freshman at a UNCF member institution and
will continue through the senior year.
All applicants
must be U.S. citizens, have a minimum 2.5 grade point average
and a demonstrated need. Scholarship amounts will vary depending
on tuition.
