On Girl Book Club Scholarships
The
Go On Girl! Book Club is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit
organization that supports authors of the Black African Diaspora.
They are inviting you to write your way to college money.
Our
mission is to encourage the literary pursuits of people of African
descent. In this vain, since 1993, we have bestowed our coveted
"Author of the Year" award and our "New Author
of the Year" award on such talents as Octavia Butler, Gloria
Naylor, Valerie Wilson Wesley and Connie Briscoe, just to name
a few.
Since
2000, we have been fortunate and honored to also sponsor two additional
awards, both monetary, to support up and coming authors - The
Unpublished Writer's Award and The Aspiring Writers Educational
Scholarship.
